Phlegm in the throat: why it appears and how to relieve it.

The constant sensation of having phlegm in the throat is one of the most common discomforts and, at the same time, one of the most misunderstood.

Some describe this discomfort as a  “knot ,” a frequent need to clear the throat, or a persistent pressure that doesn’t go away.

Although it is usually harmless, when it becomes recurrent it can affect quality of life, rest, and even daily concentration.

Phlegm  is a natural substance produced by the body. Its main function is to protect the airways by trapping particles, dust ,  and microorganisms before they enter the lungs. The problem arises when it is produced in excess or becomes thicker than usual.
