Their presence in your home often indicates favorable conditions for their development. These insects are particularly fond of damp, dark places such as bathrooms, kitchens, basements, and closets.
Silverfish feed on starchy materials such as paper, cardboard, books, and some textiles. They can quickly damage your personal belongings, important documents, or clothing. If you see one, there's a good chance there are others, sometimes hidden. They reproduce rapidly, and their population can increase rapidly without you even noticing.
