Swollen legs: what are the symptoms and how to solve the problem?

Lifting your legs: a simple and effective reflex

Lie down with your legs supported against a wall or a pillow, keeping them above heart level. This exercise promotes venous return and reduces swelling naturally.

Relaxing foot bath: your ally for relaxation

A warm foot bath, alone or with Epsom salts, can help relieve tension, stimulate circulation, and eliminate toxins. The warm water dilates blood vessels, and the salt helps eliminate retained fluid.

Additional tip: a few drops of lavender essential oil will enhance the calming effect.

Alternate hot and cold water to stimulate blood circulation.
Prepare two basins: one with hot water and one with cold water. Soak your feet in hot water for 3 to 5 minutes, then in cold water for 30 to 60 seconds. Repeat for about 15 to 20 minutes. This contrasting action stimulates microcirculation and reduces fluid retention.

Adequate vitamin supplementation can be beneficial.

Deficiencies in magnesium, vitamin E, or omega-3 fatty acids can increase fluid retention. These nutrients affect blood flow and vascular permeability. Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using any supplement.
