If your veins are visible, here’s what it means

  1. Natural aging

With age, the skin becomes thinner and loses some of its elasticity.

This natural evolution makes the veins more visible under the skin.

  1. Hormonal changes

Certain periods in life, such as pregnancy or menopause, can alter blood circulation and make veins more visible.

Hormonal treatments can also produce this effect.

When should we be more attentive?

In most cases, visible veins pose no danger.

However, certain signs may warrant medical advice.

  • Sudden and unusual appearance

If very prominent veins appear without any obvious reason (for example, without weight loss or change in physical activity), it may be helpful to consult a doctor.

  • Pain or swelling

Visible veins accompanied by pain, heat, or swelling may signal a  circulation problem .
