  • This is called the Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA).

What that means:

  • Average increase: about +$56 per month.
  • Average benefit rises to around $2,071/month.
  • Applies to:
    • Retirees
    • Disabled people (SSDI)
    • Survivors
    • SSI recipients

When payments start:

  • Social Security: January 2026
  • SSI: December 31, 2025 (paid early)
