In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.
Add the onion and garlic to the pot and cook until softened.
Stir in the macaroni, diced tomatoes, beef broth, basil, salt, and pepper.
Bring the soup to a boil and then reduce the heat to low.
Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the macaroni is cooked through.
