Directions
-
Clean the tin trays thoroughly to remove dust or debris.
-
If desired, spray paint the trays to match your décor and allow them to dry completely.
-
Using a pencil and ruler, mark a pattern where you want the light to shine through. Choose geometric designs, floral patterns, or random holes for an organic look.
-
Put on protective gloves and carefully drill holes at each marked point. Make sure the holes are large enough for light to pass through without compromising the tray’s structure.
-
Remove metal shavings and smooth any rough edges.
-
Insert the string lights through the holes from the back of the tray so the bulbs are visible from the front.
-
Secure the lights with tape if needed, ensuring even spacing.
-
Attach hooks or chains to the top of the tray for hanging.
-
Hang the lanterns in your desired location and turn on the lights to enjoy the glow.
